Philipose Thomas, LDF candidate in Pathanamthitta?

PATHANAMTHITTA: CPM District committee has recommended the name of AICC member Philipose Thomas for it Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha seat. The final decision will have to come from the party’s State leadership.

Philipose, who is also a former DCC president, had taken a stand against Congress’ official stand on several issues including Aranmula airport issue. This eventually turned DCC against him.

Philipose, who was a State Planning Board member, is a member of Marthoma church, which has a strong influence in the district. Moreover, he was also three-time Congress Assembly candidate. He was also in forefront of LDF-led agitation going on in Aranmula.
